Don’t Die at Death Valley’s Armagosa

This year Thanksgiving came around and Kevin and I were looking at a good five days off, and you know what that means: time to explore and travel. After spending two great days skiing the powder at Mammoth Mountain, we headed south for an impromptu trip to Death Valley.
I had been to Death Valley before to run a 1/2 Marathon, so when I used my Blackberry to locate a Death Valley hotel, “The Armagosa” seemed to ring a bell.
“That’s where I stayed with Mandy when we visited,” I told Kevin. “It was really beautiful and not too expensive; plus we could have the dog.” Our dog Marley was with us, so this was key.
“Great,” Kevin said as he dialed the hotel. “Hi, do you have a room with a king.”
